First Time Car Insurance

Anyone thinking about getting a car or perhaps getting their own cover after being on someone elses policy will find first time car insurance to be quite expensive.

If it is a new driver then they are statistically more likely to have an accident than experienced drivers, leading to first time car insurance premiums being higher than average. Each year of driving without making a claim does bring the cost of car insurance down though, but it can sometimes feel like a very long time to see the costs fall.

There are some companies that cater specifically for those drivers looking for first time car insurance cover, which can work out a little less expensive. Other options include completion of additional driver tests like Pass Plus or the IOM one which can reduce first time car insurance premiums by showing that the driver is a good one.
