Insurance claims for flooding may rise to four billion by 2035 says home insurance provider the Cooperative.
According to new research around sixteen per cent of homes are at risk of flooding and the cooperative is asking local authorities and the Environment Agency to work together with insurance companies to make sure their is better protection from water damage to ones home.
Already published by the Halifax this year the average amount of money claimed on a property is twenty thousand pounds.
Flooding can be a real risk to many home today especially with the large amount of rainfall that has been falling this month.
