Postal strike causes delay in motor insurance documents being sent says AA

The recent postal strike and dispute between postal workers and the Royal Mail is causing a delay in the delivery of car insurance documents says the AA.

Motorists who renew their policy at the last minute may see a gap in their records and it may appear to the Motor Insurance Database (MID) that they are uninsured when their number plate is analysed.

Also if drivers are stopped by the police they might not have their insurance documents.

The recent postal dispute now highlights the benefit to motorists of the electronic delivery of documents via email.
