This recent study revealed that pet owners are prepared to give drugs to their pet themselves, in any attempt to save money rather than paying for a vet to administer the drugs.

Self prescribing medicine for an animal, which is meant for humans, can have serious repercussions. Painkillers like Ibuprofen can prove fatal for dogs and lead to kidney failure or stomach ulcers.
