Some convicted drink drivers are uninsurable says comparison website

Nationwide motor insurance has stated that some convicted drink drivers are uninsurable and that some insures may even refuse to insure them all together.

When some drivers have been banned for drink driving offenses they will find it hard to get insured again, especially with some insurers who will not touch you for a least five years.

For the few car insurance companies who will offer motorists insurance cover they will be allocated a DR10 penalty, that means that you could pay nearly twice as much a year for your premium when compared to a motorist with a clean licence. HSBC will charge up to £410 a year extra if you have been convicted of drink driving.

A large number of young drivers admitted to driving when had alcohol or drugs a recent report revealed.
