Swiftcover Advert with Iggy Pop gets the ax

The Advertising Standards Agency or the ASA has banned the advertisement that features Iggy Pop advertising car insurance for Swiftcover insurance. The TV ad was misleading.

There have been many complaints from motorist that wanted to sign up to the Swiftcover policy, but because the rock star was stating that he had been swiftcovered and that others do the same thing to save time and money on their motor insurance cover. Then it suggested that many musicians and individuals within the entertainment industry could also apply and get cover too. But when they were refused and Iggy Pop had not even got an insurance policy with them. It was therefore deemed to be misleading by the ASA.
