Do not take risks with second-hand child seats says Sainsburys
Sainsburys motor insurance is bringing to motorist attention to those who have children not to buy second hand car seats, as you don’t know if they have suffered damage during a previous accident.
Research has revealed that a large majority of car seats had been purchased second hand and that over a quarter of these seats had been involved in a minor bump or car accident.
I would be very cautious about purchasing a second hand one from the likes of ebay, but obtaining one from friends is ok, but make sure you find out about the history of the seat.
You need to be sure of your child safety so make sure you buy a new one for peace of mind.
